CONGRATULATIONS ON A GREAT YEAR!

MWPTA would like to thank our entire parent body and school community for all of your help and support this year.  Together we raised over $47,000, we clocked you in for over 11,000 volunteer hours, you participated in 24 Fundraising events, you attended 27 Programs, you received 49 flyers and you read 222 Blog posts.  No wonder we have the most amazing parent body out there :)  Congratulations to us all!!!

MWPTA would also like to congratulate the parents of the 6th grade Culminating Class of 2012.  May your children continue to thrive and make you proud.  We wish them much success at their middle schools and best of luck for all of their future endeavors.  We hope you will come back for a visit often.

To all of our returning families, have a wonderful summer, you have earned it, and see you back at school August 14th.

PARENTS RAISE $82,697 FOR NEXT YEAR'S PROGRAMS & SAVE FOCUS FISH – THANK YOU!

This year parents, via participation in PTA and Friends of Mt. Washington School fundraising, Direct Appeal donations and Fresh & Easy receipt program (yes, it paid off at $4,000!), helped generated a total of $82,697.

Your efforts will fund the following programs:

Lastly, a huge thank you to parents who opened their wallets one last time this year and helped save our physical fitness program Focus Fish.  We were able to bridge the funding gap needed to keep that program.

As always, many, many thanks for your continued support and commitment to making quality education for our children a priority.  It certainly took a Mountain – and we did it!

SAFETY VALET NEEDS YOU FOR 2012/2013!

The Safety Valet would like to congratulate the children of the Class of 2012 on their achievements and culmination, as they move on to middle school!  Sadly, many of their parents are also moving on with them, and we will miss them greatly!  This also means we are losing half of our Valet team, leaving the program greatly understaffed.  The morning drop-off at school is vastly different than it was just three years ago, and we owe that to the efforts of all of you, and the dedication of our Valet team.  As we prepare for the new school year, we need your help!  If you are able to give just 30 minutes of your time each week (from 7:45am to 8:15am, one day a week), please contact our Safety Valet Coordinator at mwvalet@gmail.com and we'll find a shift that works for you.   Without new volunteers, we will not be able to maintain this vital program.  It is an easy way to help our school and keep our kids safe, with minimal time commitment or fuss.  Thanks to all who are able to step up and help out.

Let's keep it up next year - don't forget - save all your bottles and cans over the summer and bring them in on the first Monday when we come back to school! Let's make that a "mountain" of a collection!!

TALENT SHOW THANK YOUS

Thank you to Ms. Sosa, Ms. Porter and Ms. Gonzalez for all their hard work on putting on another amazing Talent Show and creating the opportunity for our Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser.  Congratulations to all of the performers who treated us to an incredible show on Friday night.  On behalf of our entire school community we would like to also thank Alan Palmer for stepping in, when Ms. Sosa was unable to be at the talent show, and needed to find an Emcee last minute.  Great job Alan - the evening went perfectly!   This event has shown us once again that our school is full of wonderful talent.

GRAZIE TANTO!

Washington Elementary School PTA thanks you for your participation in another phenomenal Good 'Ol Fashioned Spaghetti Dinner!  We had a great turn out, fabulous food, wonderful atmosphere and all of that before a stupendous Talent Show!  We sure know how to 'do it' at MWE!  Thank you to all the PTA volunteers who set-up and served food and sold merchandise on Friday night.  Without volunteer help and parents' participation we wouldn't have these wonderful evenings.  We are proud to announce we had gross sales in food, drinks and merchandise of $1,531 for the evening...a super success!
