THANK YOU!

We wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all the families that donated to the Toys for Tots Drive. It was a great success. Because of your support, we filled 7 boxes of toys for families in need this holiday season! 

We also want to say THANK YOU to all who donated to support the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Because of your generosity, a total of $172.92 was collected.

HOLIDAY MOVIE NIGHT IS THIS FRIDAY (12/20)!

This Friday, December 20th is MWES’ special Holiday Movie Night in the MPR. Doors will open at 5:30 with lots of food, snacks, warm drinks and other goodies on hand. The movie will start at 6:30 (run time is 104 min). This year we are showing Walt Disney’s Santa Clause 2 starring Tim Allen (rated G). It’s a great movie that’s just as funny for kids as adults. Admission is free and food will all be available for purchase. It will be a great way to kick off Winter Vacation- show your spirit one more time in 2013 and join us! Kids should feel free to bring sleeping bags and blankets and get cozy on the floor as the lights come down. CLICK HERE to see the flyer.

JOIN OUR PTA - HELP US GET TO 100% MEMBERSHIP


We are 12 members away from reaching our goal off 100% membership at our school. If we get there by the end of January (3 weeks of school time) we will get special recognition and will get to send a member to the convention for free. Sign up this week and help us reach our goal. Please put your membership dues of $5 per member into an envelope, write your name, your email, phone number and address, as well as your child's name and room number on the envelope and leave it in the office or give it to your child's teacher. Looking forward to reaching our goal very shortly!

WINTER BREAK - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS 12/20 AND STUDENTS RETURN ON 1/13

This is the last week of school before winter break. Winter break starts Monday (12/23) and ends on Friday (1/10). Be safe and enjoy the break. See you Monday (1/13)!

FOMWS - THE GREEN TEAM: CONGRATULATIONS 1ST GRADE!

The 1st graders have brought in the most recycling so far this school year! Thank you for all of your hard work. They have earned a pizza party as our way of saying thank you. Together with everyone's help and participation The GREEN Team has already raised over $2,200 and we are only in December! Way to go Mt. Washington Elementary School and our fantastic community...helping our environment every Monday! Way to Go!

DON’T FORGET TO DONATE TOYS FOR THE MT WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TOY DRIVE


This Friday, December 13th is the last day to drop your toy(s) off at MWES. By donating a new, unwrapped toy, you bring joy and a message of hope to children in our communities. Please drop off your new, unwrapped toy in the toy boxes located in each classroom. 
 

STAR EDUCTION – SPANISH MIX CLASS ON FRIDAYS


STAR Education is hosting a Spanish Mix class at Mt. Washington Elementary on Friday's. The first class began December 6th. IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN-UP! There's still space available.

This first STAR Spanish Mix class will med for an hour each week for 5 weeks and is open to students from all grade levels. During this class, students will be learning Spanish in a language immersive environment through interactive, fun, dynamic and hands on activities such as cooking, dancing, art and traditional games. Classes are instructed by experienced and native speaking Spanish Teachers from our STAR Nova department. Whether your child would just be beginning to learn Spanish or has taken classes before, our Spanish Mix class will be an excellent way for them to learn in an engaging and exciting environment.

Registration for the STAR Spanish Mix class is open now for ALL Mt. Washington Families! Your child does not need to have taken a STAR class before or be part of our Galaxy program.
