SCHOLASTIC BOOKFAIR IS HERE! DECEMBER 4, 5 AND 6 IN THE JACK AND DENNY SMITH LIBRARY.

Our Scholastic Book Fair theme – All-Star Book Fair: Every Reader Is a Star! – is part of an exciting reading event that brings to school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose their own books will motivate them to read more. And like most acquired skills, the more kids practice reading, the better they’ll get.
Reading is vital to every child’s success, and raising kids as readers means getting involved while they’re young. Now is the time. Since there will never be a substitute for a parent’s direct involvement in his/her child’s education, please make plans to visit our Book Fair. Hope to see you there!

CANNED FOOD DRIVE ENDS THIS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH

Our efforts to collect canned and non perishable foods are off to a great start.  Our goal this year is 3,000 cans and we’re a ¼ of the way there.  We will continue to collect cans throughout the week, so bring them on in.  You can drop them off with Kwame Dow by the gate in the mornings, or in the collection bags in your child's classroom.  What a great opportunity to show our gratitude and thankfulness for all that we have, by giving back to local families in need.  Let's come together as a community, ask your neighbors, family and friends to help us reach our goal.  Non perishable food items only please.  Also no dented cans or glass jars please.  The winning class will get a pizza party!!!!!
