FRESH AND EASY UPDATE

As of the last day of school, our fundraising total is up to $1,624.  Hopefully everyone got their free Turkey at Fresh & Easy and you saved your receipts for the rest of the fixings.  Thanks to all those parents that not only supported our Fresh & Easy fundraiser, but at the same time, purchased canned goods for our "Canned Goods" collection at Fresh & Easy.  Way to go!!!

Please make sure you put on your calendar Mt. Washington's Shop Night, 12/12/12.  Between the hours of 4pm and 8pm, that night our school earns 5% of all sales at our local Fresh & Easy.  The highest attended class will win a Fresh & Easy party.  We still need a couple of parent volunteers for each shift, please (click on the link to volunteer) or (email me at treasurer@mwpta.org) if you'd like to volunteer for our shop night.  Last year our school earned $971 for our shop night, let's try for $1,000, plus we can collect receipts from all the patrons.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS YEAR’S CANNED FOOD DRIVE

While we fell short of our goal of 3000 cans, we did collect 2336 cans for needy families in our community and Hurricane Sandy victims. Great job MWES !!!  We also donated cans to Irving Middle School and the 10th district PTA pantry.  The class that collected the most cans and winner of a pizza party will be announced during the morning assembly on November 26th.

OUR WINTERWONDERLAND EVENT IS QUICKLY APPROACHING! SAVE THE DATE~FRIDAY, DECEMBER 14TH.

Come create holiday crafts and gifts, enjoy music by the  MWE Chorus, eat holiday and movie food, watch a good 'ol holiday movie...so many things!  Evening starts at 5:00pm.  Make sure to be there.  More information to come!

TOYS FOR TOTS 2012!

We're doing it again---Mt. Washington Elementary School will be participating with the US Marines to once again help needy children and families.  Starting Monday, December 3rd, the Marines will kick-off our event at morning assembly.  Each classroom will have a Toys For Tots box inside their room.  The class who gathers the most unwrapped toys will win a cupcake party and be announced at our Winter Wonderland Event.  A flyer will go home in backpacks this coming week.  Good luck to all...
