THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE CARNIVAL OF THE HOWLIN’ WOLVES A HOWLING SUCCESS!!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered as well as everyone who attended the Carnival of the Howlin’ Wolves on Saturday (10/26)!  The event was a hit and the kids really enjoyed it.

NEW AND CONTINUING PROGRAMS AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

• Jump Bunch: This is a NEW after school enrichment program. Join Jump Bunch (sports & fitness for kids) this Monday (10/28) from 2:45 – 3:45pm for a FREE class. The class will meet by the basketball court. This afterschool enrichment program will officially start next Monday (11/4) and run through January 27, 2014. Your child(ren) will participate in a new sport or activity each Monday. This program is a non-competitive, high encouragement setting, intended to improve confidence, strength, flexibility, increase endurance, balance, coordination and fine gross motor skills. • Science (2nd Session): The second session of Hightouch Hightech after school science program starts this Wednesday (10/30). The first session will be from 2:45-3:45 pm and second will be from 3:45-4:45pm, both sessions in the MPR. Cost is $96 for the 8 week session. MT. WASHINGTON CLIMBERS & JR. MT. WASHINGTON CLIMBERS

The Mt. Washington Climbers meets every Wednesday at the Parent Center at 8:15am. This is a great way to socialize and get some exercise. Looking forward to seeing you.

AND NOW… Starting this Monday (10/27) at 8:20am, a stroller friendly walking group (the Jr. Mt. Washington Climbers) will be meeting at the Parent Center and then heading out for a stroller friendly walk around the hill

THIS WEDNESDAY (10/30) IS THE LAST WALK TO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY IN OCTOBER

October is almost over and this Wednesday (10/30) is the last “Walk to School Wednesdays in October.” Let’s make the last one the best one and see how many of us will walk to school this Wednesday.

 

FOMWS – THE GREAT CAR GIVE-AWAY “FIRST RULE OF RACING ‘WHAT’S BEHIND YOU DOESN’T COUNT!’” – UNKNOWN 20 days and counting down…

It’s time to turn in your raffle stubs and money. If you haven’t picked up your raffle book you’re running out of time. We’ve asked every child to take home 1 raffle book and sell the tickets. If each child takes home just 1 book and successfully sells the tickets, Mt. Washington Elementary School would have over 390 books sold!

FOMWS will be hosting coffee and pastries Monday morning out front of school. Come by, drop off your raffle stubs & money, pick-up your raffle book (or get another one) and enjoy coffee with us. 

WE NEED YOU! This FUNdraiser is being done in an effort to help Mt. Washington Elementary School earn much needed funds to ensure continued academic & enrichment activities, essential school upgrades, and on a much larger scale capital improvement projects. The Halloween Festival is a SPOOKTACULAR FUNdraising and community event. 

It features game booths, music, pumpkin decorating, fortune teller, raffles even a haunted house run by our 6th graders!  

ADVANCE DISCOUNT TICKET SALES:  Buy your tickets in advance starting on Monday in front of the school and SAVE.  Buy $5 worth of tickets and get 2 free, $10 worth and get 5 free and $20 worth and get 10 free!

Bring a play/work shirt with you so you won't get your clothes messy and some snack money for Wolves' Den!
